No Honking Day To Be Observed At 10 Chowks In Pune

Pune, 10th December 2021: No Honking Day will be observed at 10 chowks in Pune city on Sunday, 12th December. The program is organized by Life Saving Foundation, Pune traffic police and Navchaitanya Hasyayog Pariwar.

The main program will be held at Alka Talkies chowk, said Devendra Pathak from Life Saving Foundation. Makrand Tillu and Padmakar Punde from Navchaitaya Hasyayog Pariwar were present on this occasion.

Pathak said, “Honking happens nearly 1 crore times every day in the city. 90 per cent of this is unnecessary honking which is harmful to human health. To create awareness among the people, we have taken this initiative. The No Honking Day will be observed at various places including Kothrud, Jangli Maharaj Rasta, Vishrantwadi, Baner and Pashan.”

For the main event to be held at Alka Chowk, Dr Nitin Karmalkar, Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Rahul Shrirame, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police, Sports critic Sunandan Lele will be present.
