Office of PCDA (Officers) Pune Observes Bhartiya Samvidhan Diwas

Pune, 26th November 2021: Every year, November 26th is observed as Constitution Day or ‘Samvidhan Diwas’. Erstwhile it was National Law Day. 

On November 26, 1949, the Constitution was adopted, however, it came into force on January 26, 1950. Since, 2015 the current political dispensation in the Centre has rechristened this Red Letter Day to be celebrated as Constitution Day / Samvidhan Diwas to cherish the great ideals of our freedom fighters/forefathers of liberty equality, justice and fraternity by the people of our Country. 

Constitutional provisions values and Constitutional principles need to be abided complied and followed in letter word and spirit by one and all being the Citizens of this Great Nation, hence the observance and celebration of this momentous occasion and day is felt.

Office of PCDA (Officers) Pune observed this National Festival Day with utter simplicity without any fanfare by adopting and following all parameters of COVID-19 i.e. appropriate behaviour including wearing of double masks and social distancing of 2 meters.   

Dr. Rajeev Chavan, IDAS, ndc, PCDA (O) offered floral tribute to the Dr BR Ambedkar followed by taking the oath of allegiance towards the Constitution of India to the gathering of all Officers and Staff.    

 Dr Chavan narrated the historic development and journey of framing up of the Constitution. He requested all to follow and abide by the Constitutional value in word spirit and maintain the dignity of this august document, stating it, as their constitutional right as well as a moral responsibility to do so.  

On this occasion, Shri Avinash Jagtap, Sr. Auditor presented a copy of the Constitution of India to Dr Chavan. 

The program culminated with the closing address of T Satish Kumar, IDAS, ACDA who gave a vote of thanks to the audience.
