857 New COVID Patients Reported In Pune District Among 2515 In Maharashtra Today
Pune, 22nd July 2022: A total of 2515 new COVID cases were reported today in Maharashtra while 2449 patients got discharged from hospitals after recovery.
The new patients include 506 patients from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 141 from Pune rural and 210 from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area.
As on today, there are 14,579 active cases in Maharashtra including 1,871 in Mumbai, 1,042 in Thane and 5121 in Pune.
Today six patients died of COVID19 complications in Maharashtra. At present, the case fatality rate is 1.84% in the state.
2 Patients of BA.5 in the state today-
According to the latest report from the NIV, Pune, 2 cases of BA.5 have been found in the state. Both of these cases are out of state persons residing in Pune rural area for their professional reasons. They have been found Covid 19 positive at routine screening of Pune airport (Period – 3 – 9th July 22) while they are returning from Dubai. They were asymptomatic and recovered fully at home isolation. This has taken the tally of BA.4 and BA.5 patients to 160.
