5 Arrested in Delhi: Pune Police Commissioner Reveals 1700 kg MD Drug Seizure Worth Rs 3500 Crores Till Now, London Connection Established

Pune, 21st February 2024: Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar disclosed significant developments in ongoing raids conducted in Pune and Delhi.

According to Kumar, a staggering 717 kg of MD drugs were confiscated in Pune, while an additional 970 kg of MD drugs were seized in Delhi. The combined total of the narcotics seized thus far stands at a substantial 1700 kg. The street value of these drugs is estimated to be between 3000 to 3500 crore rupees.

Furthermore, the police commissioner announced the arrest of a total of 5 individuals in Delhi in connection with the drug haul. The investigation revealed that this massive drug stockpile was intended for international trafficking through a courier company, with some quantity already dispatched to London.

Commissioner Kumar assured the public of ongoing efforts, stating that 12 to 15 teams of Pune Police are actively engaged in raids across the region. The search operation in Sangli is also underway, with updates expected soon.

As the operation progresses, a total of 8 accused individuals are currently in custody. Importantly, Commissioner Kumar emphasized that there is no direct or indirect connection between the arrested individuals and political figures.

The police commissioner urged the public to remain vigilant and assured that further updates on the ongoing search operation would be provided promptly.
