36 FIRs registered in Maharashtra for spreading fake news about Coronavirus Outbreak

Mumbai, March 29, 2020: Home Minister Anil Deshmukh today said that Maharashtra Police Cyber unit has registered 36 FIRs across the state against those spreading fake news about #CoronavirusOutbreak on social media.

 

“As HomeMinister I’ve ordered that all such guilty persons should be booked swiftly”, he tweeted.

 

Maharashtra Cyber has appealed people refrain from spreading any fake messages. “Dear Citizens, We see a lot of misinformation being spread over social media about #Coronavirus. If you come across any rumors or audio/video clips, we encourage you to tweet us on the hashtag #coronamisinformation to help us stop the spread of misinformation. #staycybersafe”, Maharashtra Cyber tweeted.

 

Seven more new corona positive patients have been confirmed in Maharashtra. Four of them are from Mumbai, one from Pune, one from Sangli and one from Nagpur. The number of corona positive cases in the state has now increased to 193.
