3 Days Workshop on ‘Artificial Intelligence ,IOT Held at Bharati Vidyapeeth

3 days  Workshop on ‘Machine Learning, Deep Learning Artificial Intelligence(AI) ,IOT(Internet on Things) ‘  Held at Bharati Vidyapeeth recently.  Workshop was organized by   Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune -(BV(DU)COE) in collaboration with Global Academic Internship Programme(GAIP).Mr Rajesh Gopal, President of ‘Corporate Gurukul’ and Mr. Manjunath Rodagi were the resource person for the workshop. Dr Anand Bhalerao, Principal, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune,presided over the function.Mr. Adarsh Kumar, Member, Mozilla Campus Club, BV(DU)COE, was the key facilitator for this workshop.120 interested students from all departments of BV(DU)COE attended the workshop.

 

“More than 50 billion devices will be connected to the internet via IoT by 2020 transforming into a multi-trillion dollar market” – said Dr Anand Bhalerao, Principal, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune. He was speaking at the inauguration of workshop on “Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI, IOT” Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune (BV(DU)COE) in collaboration with Global Academic Internship Programme(GAIP).

He said that Internet of Things, is a trending technological field which is being adopted by lot of industries on to their operations to increase their productivity and improve efficiency. Because of its wide range of applications, this technology can be integrated into almost all the industries. Reports also state that more than 50 billion devices will be connected to the internet via IoT by 2020 transforming into a multi-trillion dollar market, he stated. Such is the importance of this amazing technology he said. He also mentioned that, regardless of industry, IoT is predicted to be the single most important factor impacting fundamental business logic in the coming decades.

Speaking further, he said, Industry 4.0 technologies are transforming the manufacturing industry. ‘Smart factories’ using automation, Internet of Things (IoT) technology and cloud computing are becoming the new norm. Business 4.0 will certainly make these departments function differently than they did in the past. But this doesn’t mean that human personnel will no longer be needed, he said. In fact, he emphasized that; they will be more important and powerful than ever before – aided in their own distinct way by technology. Also Data is the lifeblood of all business because data-driven decisions increasingly make the difference between keeping up with competition or falling further behind he stated. He said that machine learning can be the key to unlocking the value of corporate and customer data and enacting decisions that keep a company ahead of the competition.

He also mentioned how Artificial intelligence and machine learning are helping people and businesses achieve key goals, obtain actionable insights, drive critical decisions, and create exciting, new, and innovative products and services. He concluded saying that to make students aware of the current employment scenario in these niche areas, such workshops are organized for students of BV(DU)COE.

Mr Rajesh Gopal, President of Corporate Gurukul and Mr. Manjunath Rodagi were the resource persosn for the workshop. They explained importance of human intelligence with various practical examples and also the Gesture Sensor based project with practical hands on knowledge. Mr. Rajesh Gopal also informed in detail about the rapid growing 4.0 era which necessitates students to update themselves and stay updated to survive in this era. The speakers interacted with the students and informed them about IOT- Collecting & Transmitting data, Big Data- Storage & Process of data, AI- Analyzing and Decision making on the data are the three essential technologies to future proof their career.

Mr. Manjunath Rodagi concluded the workshop with offering internships for interested students with stipend and/or perks. 120 interested students from all departments of BV(DU)COE attended the workshop.

The contents of the 3 days workshop was focused to introduce the participants with these concepts and the underlying principles, techniques and methodologies with a complete hands on experience of interfacing user with the system, where system could be a website, a web application or desktop software.
