27 racer bicycles recovered from thief in Pune

Pune police have arrested a criminal on police record and claimed to have recovered 27 bicycles totally worth Rs 2.3 lakhs. The arrested accused has been identified as Bappu alias Gyanu Bhagwan Shinde (27), a native of Sonawade in Satara district, who lived at Paudfata in Kothrud.

Police Naik Pramod Magar from the crime branch’s anti-extortion cell received information about Bappu and accordingly he was arrested. He had stolen bicycles from Pimpri, Nigdi, Balajinagar (Dhankawadi) and Sadashiv Peth areas.

Police Inspector Anil Patil said, “He would keep the cycles hidden in different places and would sell them at throw away prices like Rs 1,000 -2,000. The cost of the cycles range from Rs 10,000 to 50,000.”
