27 Candidates Shortlisted For Interview For Post of Vice-Chancellor of Pune University; 11 of Them Are from Pune
Pune, 13th May 2023: The interview for the position of Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is scheduled to be held on 18th and 19th May. Out of the numerous applications received, 27 candidates have been shortlisted for the interview, with 11 candidates being selected from Pune. The interviews will take place at IIT Bombay.
Anil Sahasrabudhe, former President of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) appointed by the state government, will serve as the chairperson of the interview panel. The panel includes 11 candidates from Pune, as well as individuals from other cities such as Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nalanda, Latur, Kolhapur, Raigad, and Jalgaon.
The majority of the candidates selected are from the science stream. However, there are also candidates with backgrounds in economics and public policy, distance and open education, defence, and strategic studies.

Vijay S Khare – Senior Professor and Head, Department of Defense and Strategic Studies
Sanjeev A Sonwane – Senior Professor and Head, Department of Education and Extension
Vilas Seshrao Kharat – Senior Professor, Department of Mathematics
Manohar G Chaskar – Principal, Ramakrishna More Arts Commerce and Science College Akurdi
Parag C Kalkar – Director, Sinhagad Business School, Pune
