17 dead, 15 injured in accident at Khambatki Ghat

Pune – 17 persons including three minors were killed, and 15 others injured after the Eicher truck they were traveling in met with accident at Khambatki Ghat in Satara district in the wee hours of Tuesday.

They were labourers and travelling from Bijapur district of Karnataka to Shirval MIDC. After crossing the tunnel on NH4, the driver lost control of the vehicle at a sharp turn and hit the railing before it turned upside down.
