16 teams for 18th edition of Ankur Joglekar Memorial Inter IT Cricket Championship Cup 2023-24
Pune, December 20, 2023: A total 16 teams from various leading IT companies of Pune and vicinity will be seen in action at 18th edition of “Ankur Joglekar Memorial” Inter IT Cricket Championship Cup 2023-2024 which is being organized by Ankur Joglekar Memorial Foundation in association with IDeaS a SAS Company from 23rd December 2023.
Wing Commander Uday Joglekar, President, Ankur Joglekar Memorial Foundation & Father of Ankur Joglekar and Mr.Vijay Joglekar, VP of Ankur Joglekar Memorial Foundation & Uncle of Ankur Joglekar said that, Ankur Joglekar lost his life in a fatal road accident in the year 2005, an employee of IDeaS company Ankur Joglekar was a good cricket player. He was a good all-rounder. He represented the State Squad for the Under-19 team and was on the probable list of the National Team of Vidharba.
AJM inter IT Cricket Tournament is just an initiative taken by IDeaS a SAS Company for the last 18 years to keep the memories of Ankur Joglekar alive and also to raise awareness about Safe Driving of Vehicles, Road Safety & Traffic Disciplines of Pune. This will be the 18th year of the AJM Inter IT Cricket T-20 Tourney organized in fond memories of their employee ANKUR JOGLEKAR by “IDeaS a sas Company”.
Top IT companies of Pune and vicinity including INFOSYS (winners), TCS (runners-up), Tech Mahindra (semi-finalist), KPIT (semi-finalist), IDeaS, Dassault Systemes, Cybage, Maersk, Yardi, Amdocs, Pubmatic, SS&C Advent, Mastercard, Veritas, Deutsche Bank and FIS Global. There will be 4 pools & in each pool, there will be 4 teams. Each team will be playing 3 League matches in the first round.
The matches will be played on a League cum Knockout basis. The venue of the matches is PCMC VARROC VENGSARKAR GROUND, Thergoan, Pune & will be played only on Saturdays & Sundays.2 teams leading the points chart from each pool will qualify for the “QUARTER FINAL Round” & then the “SEMI Finals”, the best 2 teams will play the “GRAND FINALE” of the “AJM 2023-24” on 3rd March 2024 Sunday
The tournament offer total prize money of Rs.1,00,000/- which consists of cash prizes to the Winners Rs.50,000/-, Runners-Up Rs.30,000/-, Man of The Series Rs.5,000/-, Best Batsman of the Tournament Rs.5,000/-, Best Bowler of the Tournament Rs.5,000/- for Men’s. 16 ladies’ teams will compete for the Championship Title of AJM 2024. The ladies’ matches will be played on 6th, 7th, 13th & 14th January 2024 on PCMC VARROC VENGSARKAR GROUND, Thergoan, Pune.
The Ladies’ tournament has a total prize of Rs.24,000/- which consists of cash prizes to the Winners Rs.10,000/-, Runners Up Rs.5,000/-, Man of The Series Rs.5,000/-, Best Batsman of the Tournament Rs.2,000/-, Best Bowler of the Tournament Rs.2,000/- for Men’s.
The Tournament opening match will be played between INFOSYS and IDeaS a SAS Company on 23rd December 2023 (Saturday) at PCMC VARROC VENGSARKAR GROUND, Thergoan, Pune. The inauguration will be graced by the presence of Wing Commander Uday Joglekar , President, Ankur Joglekar Memorial Foundation & Father of Ankur Joglekar, Mr. Vijay Joglekar, Vice President, Ankur Joglekar Memorial Foundation & Uncle of Ankur Joglekar, Mr. K. S. Prashant, MD of IDeaS a SAS Company, Mallika James, Finance Head IDeaS India, Mr. Rajiv Nashikkar, Ex- MD & VP IDeaS India Operations, Wing Commander Vidyakant Kala, Ex-Director IDeaS a SAS Company.
Cricket Tournament will act as a medium of activity for the employees of various organizations to come on the cricket field on their weekends & compete in the tournament to achieve the common goal of being the Champions team for the year 2023-2024.
