100 Per Cent Fund Expenditure Of Pune District Annual Plan; Rs 1,005 Crores Plan For Current Financial Year

Pune, 4th April 2023: The district has achieved the target of 100% fund expenditure in the last financial year, resulting in many development works that will soon be underway. Under the District Annual Plan for the year 2023-24, a substantial increase of Rs. 130 crores has been obtained for the development plan of the general plan compared to the last year, bringing the total plan amount to Rs 1,005 crores.

As part of the plan, Rs. 93 crores will be spent on constructing 200 km of rural roads, while Rs. 41.52 crores will be used to build 100 km of other district roads. The rural areas will also see a boost in facilities as over Rs. 236 crores have been made available for Gram Panchayats in the district for internal road cemetery improvement, ghat improvement, gutter construction, Gram Panchayat office construction, etc. Additionally, Rs. 100 crores have been allocated to 17 Municipalities/Nagar Panchayats for urban infrastructure.

Furthermore, Rs. 25 crores have been provided for small irrigation dams and Kolhapur-type dams, which will benefit irrigation in rural areas, and Rs. 12.91 crore has been given to 60,254 farmers to provide the benefit of Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh’s interest relief scheme.

For better educational facilities for students in rural areas, Rs. 36.50 crore has been earmarked for the infrastructure of Zilla Parishad schools. Meanwhile, Rs. 4.50 crore each has been allocated for Astronomy Lab and Science Lab for schools in the Municipal Corporation area, as well as Rs. 4.50 crore for a computer experiment school and digital teaching devices.

The development of sports skills among youth will also be boosted with Rs. 16 crores made available for the purchase of gym equipment, open gym, sports equipment, kabaddi, wrestling, and kho-kho mats. Rs. 1.5 crores have been allotted for the development work of Shri Chaturshringi Devasthan, while Rs. 60 lakhs and Rs. 40 lakhs have been given for the development works of Jangli Maharaj Devasthan and Omkareshwar and Kasba Ganapati, respectively.

The plan also includes Rs. 20 lakhs for the beautification of the Pashan Lake, Rs. 2 crores for the improvement of police quarters in Pune city, Rs. 1.5 crores for the repair of Kothrud and Dattawadi police stations, and Rs. 2 crore each for the purchase of vehicles for Pune city and Pune rural police.

Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh has stated that 100% of the funds received under the District Annual Plan 2022-23 have been disbursed, including Rs. 875 crores for District Annual Plan (General), Rs. 128.98 crores for District Annual Plan (Scheduled Caste Sub-Yojana), and Rs. 54.10 crores for District Annual Plan (District Tribal Component Programme).
