Baner, 26th September 2024: The Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association (SCSA) is gearing up to host its 3rd Annual Durgapuja celebration from October 8th to 13th at Saafa Banquets, Balewadi High Street, Baner.

This year’s Durgapuja will feature a special theme associated with the Tridevi: Maa Kaali (Strength), Maa Saraswati (Wisdom), and Maa Laxmi (Prosperity) to commemorate the three-year anniversary of the event. This year’s celebration promises a unique blend of traditional Bengali rituals, cultural performances, and a vibrant festive atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the festival is the stunning statue of the goddess, crafted in the exquisite Rajwadi style. This unique artwork will serve as the centerpiece of the celebration, attracting devotees and visitors alike. The organizers have extended invitations to NGOs, individuals from diverse cultures, and high-profile delegates to join the festivities, said Mr. Sanjay Biswas, President of the Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association.

The five-day event will feature a variety of cultural programs, including folk-fusion themed songs, instrumental music, and traditional dance performances. Renowned artists will showcase their talents, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. A special attraction will be the in-house performance of the traditional Dhunuchi Dance by a group of 20 members, added Raj Bhanot, Treasurer of the Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association.

Saptapadi Durgapuja will also host an “Anandmela,” a food festival where attendees can share home-cooked Bengali delicacies with each other. This communal experience will foster a sense of camaraderie and strengthen community bonds. Special arrangements have been made for bhog on Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami, added Soumitra Kundu, General Secretary of the Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association.

To enhance the festive atmosphere, a flea market will be set up, offering a wide range of products from food and beverages to clothing and jewelry. This will provide visitors with a unique shopping experience.

The Saptapadi Durgapuja 2024 will begin on October 8th and conclude on Dashami, October 12th. Daily pujas, including “Pushpanjali” and other rituals, will be held in the morning, followed by cultural events in the evenings. The Sindur Khela will be the most anticipated event of the Pujo.
