Pune: Phoenix Mall Of Millennium To Come Up In Wakad, Work Going On In Full Swing
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 14th June 2021: Wakad, which has become a real estate hotspot in the last one decade, is bracing for some big projects.
The new projects include the World Trade Center (WTC), EON IT Park, and Phoenix Mall Of Millennium. There is not much information available about the World Trade Center and EON IT Park, but work on the Phoenix Mall Of Millennium is in full swing. Wakad is all set to get Phoenix Mall Of Millennium in the next few years.
Construction for the mall is underway on a 12-acre land behind the Sayaji Hotel. The arrival of Phoenix Mall Of Millennium will enhance commerce and trade in the Wakad area and benefit the citizens of the area.

Wakad area is connected by Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS). A metro station is also planned near Wakad Bridge.
Wakad happens to be one of the fastest-growing localities of Pune. Wakad holds great importance for its religious carnival known as “Jatra” in the temple of Mhatoba. The rich, fertile, black soil of Wakad helped farmers grow sugarcane, groundnut and onion in abundance. Slowly the civic infrastructure in Wakad improved with regular electricity, water, good roads and drainage system.
The phenomenal growth of Wakad can be attributed to the development of the Infotech and Biotechnology park at Hinjawadi close to the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.
In the last few years, the Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation (PCMC) has granted the maximum number of building permissions for projects in the area to Wakad and its surrounding areas. As a result, it is seen as a new hotbed of real estate growth in Pune.

It is also close to three Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes, namely Nashik Phata-Wakad, Aundh-Ravet and Kalewadi phata-Dehu Alandi road. Towards the east is Pimple Nilakh, Pimple Saudagar and Aundh, towards the south is the Mula River, Baner, Pashan and Balewadi Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex and towards the north is Thergaon, Akurdi, Chinchwad and Ravet.
