Pune: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Reviews Flood Situation in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Sangvi, 5th August 2024: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assessed the flood situation in Juni Sangvi and engaged with citizens displaced by the recent floods. After evaluating the situation, he assured them of all possible assistance.

The inspection was attended by Deputy Chairperson of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe, Maval MP Srirang Barne, Chinchwad MLA Ashwini Jagtap, Pimpri MLA Anna Bansode, Bharatiya Janata Party Pimpri-Chinchwad City President Shankar Jagtap, former mayor Usha Dhore, and former corporator Nana Kate.

Pimpri-Chinchwad city experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday. The combination of intense rain and dam discharge led to flooding in the Pavana, Indrayani, and Mula rivers flowing through the city. This caused water to accumulate in housing societies, homes, and low-lying areas along the riverbanks. Approximately a thousand citizens were relocated to shelter centers and relatives’ homes due to the flooding. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reviewed the flood situation in Sangvi.
